PESHAWAR: Malik International Cricket Academy (MiCA) Peshawar showcased a commanding performance to defeat Eshaal Associates Lahore by 102 runs in a friendly one-day match held at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground, Peshawar.
The match was graced by the presence of Malik Dastagir Khan, President of the District Patwarian Association, as the chief guest. He was accompanied by Malik Farman Ali, Managing Director of Malik International Cricket Academy, Peshawar.
Batting first, MiCA Peshawar posted a formidable total of 329 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Star batter Muntazir Afridi led the charge with a superb 89-run knock, earning him the Man of the Match award. Supporting roles were played by Umar (83), Amir Afridi (62), and Yasir (50), all contributing valuable runs to boost their side’s total.
From Eshal Associates, Ali Hasan bowled impressively and took 3 wickets, while Usman claimed 2 and Moaz picked up 1 wicket.
In reply, Eshal Associates Lahore fell short of the target, managing 227 runs in 40 overs. Despite a valiant unbeaten 108-run innings by Hasan Muddasir and a fighting 50 from Ahmed Iqbal, the rest of the batting lineup failed to provide the needed support.
MiCA bowlers kept things tight with Ali Imtiaz and Abdul Rehman taking 2 wickets each, while Fahad, Irfan, Saad, and Yasir chipped in with one wicket apiece.
At the closing ceremony, Muntazir Afridi was declared Player of the Match for his brilliant knock. The chief guest Malik Dastagir Khan and MD Malik Farman Ali praised the players and encouraged the youth for their excellent performance.
