SWABI: Talented Pakistani-born boxer Sher Khan, currently based in Crawley, England, has made waves in professional boxing with his outstanding performances, earning not only personal acclaim but also bringing pride to his country. Determined to carve out a unique place in the boxing world like the renowned Amir Khan, Sher Khan has vowed to raise Pakistan’s flag high on the international stage through relentless hard work and unwavering determination.
During a special conversation with the media on his visit to his hometown of Zarobi in Swabi district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 30-year-old boxer shared his journey and aspirations.
“I was deeply passionate about boxing from a very young age,” Sher Khan said. “It was always my dream to make a name for myself and bring honor to Pakistan through this sport. By the grace of Allah, that dream has started to become a reality.”
Reflecting on his early days, Sher Khan admitted that the path was far from easy. “There were countless challenges in the beginning, but I never gave up. I never relied on shortcuts or recommendations. I firmly believe that hard work is the only true path to success.”
Sher Khan’s dedication paid off as he not only established himself at the regional level but also made a mark in professional boxing throughout England. Having already achieved several notable victories in professional bouts, he is now close to qualifying for international professional boxing tournaments.
“I have three more fights ahead of me,” he revealed. “God willing, success will be ours soon. My dream is to make Pakistan proud in the world of boxing, just like Amir Khan did.”
He emphasized that he had risen from the grassroots level, playing and competing through sheer effort and perseverance. Now, with experience and confidence on his side, Sher Khan feels fully prepared to represent Pakistan on the global stage.
In his message to the youth, Sher Khan urged, “Stay away from shortcuts and reliance on connections. Believe in your abilities and trust in hard work _ that’s the real key to achieving success.”
