LAHORE: The ongoing renovation and construction work at the iconic Qaddafi Stadium is now in its final stages. Senior sports journalist Shaukat Hussain, hailing from Abbottabad in the Hazara region, visited the stadium and provided detailed insights into the progress of the work.
According to Shaukat Hussain, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in full preparation mode for the hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. To bring Qaddafi Stadium up to international standards, not only are the pitches being restored, but extensive renovations are also being carried out on both the internal and external structures of the stadium.
He further highlighted that the ongoing improvements include the installation of modern floodlights, providing players with state-of-the-art facilities, repairing VIP enclosures, and enhancing seating arrangements for the fans. Shaukat Hussain emphasized that the PCB is committed to ensuring that all these tasks are completed ahead of the Champions Trophy to leave both players and spectators impressed with Pakistan’s hospitality and the stadium’s exceptional facilities.
