PESHAWAR: The Hayatabad Sports Complex was abuzz with activity as it hosted a spirited Independence Day celebration on August 14. Organized by the organizer of the complex and former international athlete Abid Afridi, the event showcased various sports events for the local youth.
The celebration featured events in various fields including Karate Academy, Taekwondo Academy, Football, Archery, Cricket and Gymnastics. The boys and girls of these academies showcased their talent and competitive spirit in a series of well-conducted matches and competitions.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests Abid Afridi and international karate player and coach Khalid Noor, who received the Pride of Performance Award. He presented trophies to outstanding performers recognizing their extraordinary achievements.
The event saw enthusiastic participation of junior players and their families in large numbers. Parents, who were in high spirits, enjoyed watching their children compete and celebrate in an atmosphere of independence.
