The elections took place during a general council meeting held at a local hotel in Peshawar, attended by officials from across the region, including Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, and DI Khan Divisions. The assembly saw a significant turnout of regional boxing officials.
Usman Gul, a retired Captain and Director General of NIM/PARD/PPSA, was elected Chairman. Muhammad Azhar Khan, a notable figure in the local sports community, was chosen as President, while Khaizrullah Jan was selected as Secretary General.
The newly formed cabinet also includes Muhammad Akmal Khan Jadoon as Executive Senior Vice President, and Arshad Hussain, Asghar Khan, Qadir Zaman, Mehboobullah, and Mrs. Raham Bibi as Vice Presidents. Miss Iqra Khan has been appointed Finance Secretary, with Adil Said as Joint Secretary, and Ameer zada and Maria Ali serving as Associate Secretaries. The Executive Members are Muhammad Nader, Awal Zaman, Mohammad Din Afridi, Hamad Shah, Maryam Bibi, and Muniba.
Notable attendees at the meeting included Colonel Nasir Tong, Secretary General of the Pakistan Boxing Federation; Younis Pathan, Chairman of the Pakistan Referee Judges Council; Raja Atif; and Ashfaq Ahmed, Assistant Director of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate.
President Muhammad Azhar Khan emphasized the positive impact of sports on youth, noting that boxing, in particular, can foster a tolerant and competitive society. He expressed confidence that the new administration will effectively promote and advance the sport within the province.
The newly elected officials pledged to work collaboratively to enhance boxing’s profile and achieve the association’s goals. They assured that all available resources will be mobilized to support and encourage the sport.
The Provincial Sports Directorate representatives also committed to providing full support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association, pledging cooperation to further the development of boxing in the region.
